New News

Cub of the Week

Each week, teachers nominate students for the Cub of the Week Award. Nominated students are those who have shown exceptional kindness, tolerance, and respect during the week. Each Friday, the Lurgio administration and guidance staff reviews all nominees and selects the “Cub of the Week.”

This week’s Cub of the Week is Tucker Theodore. In Physical Training, Tucker is always inclusive, kind and respectful.  He has taken the initiative to help a peer with instruction during his class time and will often sit with this student during lunch.  He is also quick to offer assistance to his instructors with setup and clean up. Thank you, Tucker, for making Lurgio a great place to learn

A Note From the Athletic Director

Participants in Lurgio’s athletic and extracurricular programs are held to a high standard of conduct. Our school community expects our athletes and participants to consistently exemplify our core values of respect for others, self and school. Sportsmanship is a key value of our middle school sports teams. As members of the Tri-County League, we are expected to “conduct inter-school relationships in a spirit of good sportsmanship.” It is important for all members of the sport community including coaches, parents, players, and spectators to demonstrate and encourage respectful, positive conduct.

Additionally, Lurgio Middle School athletic contests are public events scheduled after normal school hours. Students who attend as spectators are expected to attend the game and cannot be guaranteed supervision outside of the gymnasium area. Please take this into consideration as you schedule after school arrangements for your student.

Study Skills Workshop

Does your 7th grade student need help with Study Skills?  Join the high school librarian and the middle school librarian in a workshop addressing important topics for academic success.  The workshops will be held during the “What I Need” (WIN) period on January 28th and January 30th. If your student is interested, please have your student stop by the library to register or email Ms. Detwiler detwilera@sau25.net with your child’s name and homeroom. Thank you!
