LURGIO NEWS
November 18, 2016

Dear Parents,

It was great to see so many parents at Lurgio this week during our parent-teacher conference evenings. Parent-teacher conferences are an excellent time for you to check in on students’ progress with specific feedback from the teachers. The strong attendance at the conferences this this week shows how committed you are to your students and their academic success.

I want to extend special thanks to the PTG for providing dinner to our staff on Thursday evening during the conferences. The food was absolutely delicious and it bolstered the energy and spirit of our teachers. Our partnership with the PTG is indicative of the strong community we have here in Bedford.

Sincerely,

Ed

A complete Grab N Go breakfast is offered for $1.25.  Students may use their lunch account to purchase a grab n go breakfast. Students exhibit stress in different ways.  We are working with students to recognize what their personal stressors are and to be able to recognize when they are stressed.  We will next share with them a few strategies to help regulate their emotions.  For more detailed information, check out this link  Skill of the Week:  Emotional Control

Special Note: November Parent Conference Information

November 10, 2016
Dear Parents & Guardians,
This is the time of year that is perfect for you to check in on your student’s academic progress with his/her teachers. On Wednesday, November 16, 2016 (3:30PM-6:30PM) and Thursday, November 17, 2016 (5:30PM-8:30PM), I invite you to Lurgio Middle School to conference with the teachers regarding your student’s progress.
These brief, but important conferences will afford you the opportunity to discuss your student’s learning, self-management, and social-emotional well-being. These conferences are scheduled in 10-15 minute increments. Please follow this [LINK] to access our conference sign up sheet. Each teacher has created a link that you may follow to sign up for a specific time slot. Should you have any questions regarding this process, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
We are now offering online report cards. To access your student’s report card, log into your Powerschool account and select the “Report Cards” button contained in the frame on the left of the main screen. You will have access to this feature year-round and each time you access it, the report card will have the most current information about your student’s grades.
I thank you for taking the time to partner with us in your child’s education. You are an essential component of your child’s development and we see your involvement as essential to your student’s educational growth.
Sincerely,
Ed Joyce, Principal
