Special Note: Important: 19-20 Chromebook Insurance Renewal

Dear Parents,
You are receiving this email because you are eligible to renew the Chromebook insurance purchased for  Terry's Lenovo Chromebook.  Parents have the option to renew the insurance for the 19-20 school year but you must purchase this option prior to August 1st. The cost for the renewal is $29 which not only includes the accidental breakage/theft insurance but also extended manufacturer warranty.  The original manufacturer's warranty is only valid for one year. We strongly encourage parents to consider this optional insurance. All insurance claims are processed through the district. The following are estimated costs for the typical repairs if insurance is not purchased:
  • Keyboard (includes trackpad) - $50-70
  • LCD Display (generic replacement) - $43
  • Touchscreen LCD Display -$200
  • Power Connector (in Chromebook) - $30
  • Chassis - $46
  • Main Logic Board - cheaper to purchase new device.

The following options are available for payment for the extended insurance coverage.

Check
All checks should be made out to the Bedford School District. Please include your student’s name and ID number on the check. The cost of the insurance is $29. One check for multiple student insurance renewals is also acceptable.
Please mail the checks to:
McKelvie Intermediate School – Technology Hub
Attn: Sharon Goodwin
108 Liberty Hill Road
Bedford, NH 03110

Credit Card
The District uses the “Send Money To School” (http://www.sendmoneytoschool.com) service for this purpose. This is the same service that is used to deposit money into your student’s lunch account. To pay via credit card, login to your sendmoneytoschool.com account, click on the School Store and then click on the Chromebook Store to choose the 19-20 Chromebook Insurance Renewal option. Click here for the full instructions on how to pay for the Chromebook insurance via credit card. There is a $2.00 transaction fee to pay by credit card.
Thank you.
