Cub of the Week

Each week, teachers nominate students for the Cub of the Week Award. Nominated students are those who have shown exceptional kindness, tolerance, and respect during the week. Each Friday, the Lurgio administration and guidance staff will review all nominees and will select the “Cub of the Week.”
This week’s Cubs of the Week are Sydney Grogan and Sean Greene. Sean and Sydney have become true, supportive, and loyal friends to a fellow student. Their kindness has not gone unnoticed by staff and students alike. Thank you to Sean and Sydney for helping to make Lurgio a better place.

Book Buzz

Today we shared a graphic memoir called El Deafo by Cece Bell who lost her hearing ability as a young child. She illustrated the book and chose to use bunnies as her characters. This is her story about learning to deal with a hearing aid as she learns to lip read all while just wanting to make friends. She finds her own superpowers after a lot of hurdles. Check it out!
