Dear Lurgio Community,
Thank you for your support and flexibility in response to today’s disruption. As Superintendent Fournier has already stated, the early releases were our school’s response to “a written note with information on doing harm at a specified period of time.” While there was no threat at Lurgio, our students were released when the high school students were released because our schools are connected.
Each time our school community faces a challenge, I am most impressed with how our students respond. Today was no different, and the our students performed beyond expectations as the Lurgio staff led them through a shelter in place and controlled, early dismissal. Thank you parents, staff, and most of all students.
As a father of students at both Bedford High and Lurgio Middle School, I can appreciate the stress that events like today might cause for a family. Tomorrow, we will return to our regular schedule, and as a dad and a principal, I am truly looking forward to resuming our normal routine.
Sincerely,
Ed Joyce
