Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today at Lurgio we conducted a lockdown drill. There was no emergency and this was a practice drill. This is something that is conducted twice a year and is coordinated with the Bedford Police Department. I understand that these drills can create stress for students and staff. While it is sad that we must conduct these drills, they are necessary to make sure that our school is best prepared for emergent situations.
During the drill, Bedford Police Officers walked the building and gave us feedback on our performance. I received feedback from the officers that students and teachers were excellent during the exercise and followed protocols. After the drill concluded, I relayed the positive comments to the entire school.
