Dear Parents,
In an effort provide you with accurate information, I want to let you know about a significant incident that occurred today in our before-school program. Unfortunately, we had a student bring a knife into the school. Other students became aware of the presence of the knife prior to the start of the school day, and they immediately reported it. Because of their swift action and commitment to school safety, we were able to act on the information they provided and secure the knife prior to the start of the school day. While no threats were made to any of our students or staff, the presence of a knife in school is very unsettling. We are currently working with the family of the student who brought the knife and with the Bedford Police Department to bring this issue to full resolution.
