Dear 7th grade Parents and Guardians,
Tomorrow is our 7th grade planned trip to Gunstock. Please know that the trip is still on for tomorrow. The weather forecast for tomorrow in Manchester is very hot, but the weather in Gilford, NH, which is about 60 miles north, is forecasted to be a bit cooler. Students should pack water bottles along with sunscreen. The teachers will be packing extra cases of water for everyone as well.
I have included the Weather Channel’s forecast for tomorrow in Gilford, NH below. The students will arrive at Gunstock at approximately 10:00 AM when the temperature will be around 79 degrees. The temperature is predicted to climb to 88 degrees for the last hour the students are at the park.
We will follow the National Weather Service’s advice and recommend that students not engage in strenuous exercise after noon. There are plenty of places at Gunstock where students can cool off with a water and celebrate the end of their year. There are even a few activities that involve water balloons; I imagine they will be very popular.
If you do not wish for your child to attend the trip, we can arrange for an area at school where they can be supervised.
Sincerely,
Ed Joyce
