Dear Lurgio Families,
Today closes a most challenging school year. We faced many hurdles together as parents, staff, and students. As I reflect on the Lurgio Community, I can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude and pride. Parents, thank you for all of your support and flexibility as you aided your children and sometimes the school at large to handle the numerous changes to our operating procedures. Staff, I appreciate your indefatigable drive to serve your students and support one another. That is why Lurgio is a very special place. Students, you have been my inspiration all year. I am awestruck at how you have consistently exceeded expectations as you navigate each new challenge in front of you.
I wish you all a wonderful, restful summer.

Yearbook Release & Signing Party
Did you order a 2020-2021 Lurgio Yearbook? Notice you didn’t get your yearbook yet? Come join the fun on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 11am-1pm in the Lurgio Dining Hall. We will be distributing yearbooks and you will have time to hang out with friends and sign them.

8th Grade Students: BHS BASE Camp
BASE Camp registration is up and running! BASE Camp is a great opportunity for incoming students to learn more about Bedford High School. This year’s session will run from 8/11-8/13 8:30AM-2:30PM. More information about BASE Camp can be found HERE.

In Writing Summer - 8th Grade Students
Eighth graders intending to take In Writing Enrichment or In Writing Hybrid Enrichment at BHS this summer need to register and pay for the course through the Summer Opportunities Website. Course dates, times, and fees are listed on the website and the registration form is linked on the left side of the site. Media Center News
Library Book Return
Happy end of the school year! Thank you for returning all Lurgio library books. If students have overdue books, they have received a library notice from their homeroom teacher. Please check in with your student to see if they have a library notice. Sometimes the missing books are in their backpacks or they may need help searching...
Books can be quickly returned to the Main Office next week from 8am-3:45pm.
Students can check their Destiny Library Online Catalog accounts to make sure all school books are turned in.
Students are responsible for all library materials checked out.
If students have lost materials, the items need to be paid for. In the Fall, if students have missing or lost books at BHS or RAL, the materials must be returned or paid for in order to check out books. Checks can be made out to Ross A Lurgio School. If there is a financial concern, please reach out to the Librarian below.
Students can check their accounts by going to the Library Media Center Website. Click on the Library Online Catalog and Log In in the upper right corner with their school Google Account. Click on the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner and look at Checkouts.

Tech Corner
The Bedford School District is asking parents of students currently in grade 6 to select an option for your student to participate in the District’s Chromebook 1-to-1 Program at Ross A. Lurgio Middle School for the 2021-2022 school year. We believe this program is a tremendous opportunity for our students and teachers to improve teaching and learning.
Our Chromebook 1-to-1 Website has detailed information for parents regarding the program and we encourage parents to review the 1-to-1 Program and Parent Resources sections.
Parents are asked to purchase a Chromebook device for their student choosing one of the following options:
Purchase a Chromebook on your own,
Purchase a Chromebook directly from the district (first year accidental breakage/theft insurance included) with a one-time payment (only one non-touch model is being offered to families this year)
For families that do not opt into the Chromebook 1-to-1 Program, a loaner Chromebook device will be provided to the student to use during the school day. Please click on this Program Selection Form link to submit your choice for your student. This form will need to close on June 11th so that chromebooks can be ordered for the start of school. You will receive a confirmation of your program option selection and further information will be communicated during the summer based on the program option you have chosen for your student.
Please complete the form even if you are not purchasing a device through the district.
